Always a great place to shoot and we never encountered the range too crowded. It's been a couple of years since we have been able to stop in due to our relocation to the Virgin Islands. Don was always our "go to" when we visited. He was a great guy and unsure if he's still working there.

The last 3 or 4 times that I’ve visited Howells, has been a rewarding sensational experience. Upgraded my AR first, fixed a spring and today upgraded a trigger! Worth a trip! Worth an experience and worth a purchase!

Shooting at Howell's has been an incredible experience. Having been raised in an area of Brooklyn NYC where shootouts were common, I had an innate fear of firearms. This place completely changed my viewpoint on firearms within the first minutes of being there. They were kind, welcoming, helping and went above and beyond to help me feel secure at the range. Their emphasis on safety and education far exceeded my expectations. My visit was supposed to be a "once in a lifetime" thing to mark off my bucket list, but I now regularly visit. My nephew came up from NYC for a visit and the staff did an amazing job setting him up at the range. This was a highlight of his trip to maine and he looks forward to return during his next trip!

I’ve taken two classes and a private lesson, and I can’t say enough good things about Howell’s. The training staff is extremely knowledgeable, and taught in such a way that I felt safe and confident. I look forward to many future years doing business at Howell’s.

Greatly positive experience purchasing and taking a private lesson. First time firearms owner, walked into the store and was greeted by Adam who asked how he could help. He was extremely knowledgeable and asked what my needs were and what I was thinking with the firearms I had in mind. Not once was I pressured into a choice/purchase and he was very patient while I figured which firearm I preferred. Best sales experience. The private lesson I had with the same employee was excellent; showed me firearm safety, how the range worked, proper firearm handling and shooting, different ammo and shooting performance, etc. I definitely walked away with a solid understanding and great habits. Highly recommend for first time buyers and for private lessons.

Great facility, incredible staff, safe and effective instruction/classes across the board. Great programs - weekly gun slinger inclusive to all levels and women’s shooting league. Retail space is awesome, and they’ll guide you elsewhere as needed. I’d be lost in the firearm world without the Howell’s family - hands down, the best.
